AMBERLITE IRP 88 NF

Amberlite™ IRP88 is a weak acid cation exchange resin (polacrilin potassium) provided in the potassium form, appearing as a white to off-white fine powder. It is specifically engineered for use as a super-disintegrant. It is predominantly used in standard and fast-dissolving tablets (ODTs). Its mechanism involves rapid swelling upon contact with water, creating internal pressure that breaks the tablet matrix. It is effective at very low concentrations, with recommended use levels typically between 2% and 5% w/w, making it highly efficient for high-speed tabletting where rapid disintegration is critical for a fast onset of action.
