CARBOPOL® 971P NF polymer is a thickener and rheology modifier with long flow commonly used in the pharmaceutical industry. It also has bioadhesive and mucoadhesive properties. As a carbomer, CARBOPOL® 971P NF polymer helps form clear gels and stable suspensions when neutralized and is compatible with a wide range of active pharmaceutical ingredients and other excipients. Its stability across a wide pH range makes CARBOPOL® 971P NF polymer well-suited for use in various pharmaceutical dosage forms. Recommended for: semisolids and gels, solutions and suspensions, extended release oral solid doses. CARBOPOL® 971P NF is suitable for oral drug delivery, topical drug delivery, ophthalmic drug delivery, and oral care applications. Recommended concentrations: in oral solid dose for extended release: 5-10 wt%; in oral solid dose for immediate release: 0.5-3 wt%; in oral solutions & suspensions: 0.2-1 wt%; in topicals 0.5-3 wt%. It's a carbomer homopolymer type A, polymerized in ethyl acetate.
