SWEETPEARL® P300 DC, manufactured by Roquette, is a premium, granulated Maltitol specifically engineered for Direct Compression (DC). SWEETPEARL® P300 DC is considered a multifunctional excipient because it performs several critical roles within a single formulation simultaneously. It provides the necessary "bulk" to a tablet, especially when the AP) dose is very small. Unlike standard maltitol powder, the P300 DC grade has the internal binding capacity to hold the tablet together under pressure, providing high mechanical strength without needing extra binders like PVP. It acts as the primary sweetening agent, providing a sucrose-like taste profile that is essential for patient compliance in chewable or orally-dissolving forms. Its granular, spherical nature improves the flowability of the entire powder blend, often reducing or eliminating the need for high levels of Glidants like Silicon Dioxide.
