LYCASIN 85/55

LYCASIN® 85/55, produced by Roquette, is a premium Maltitol Syrup (hydrogenated starch hydrolysate). It is the industry benchmark for creating sugar-free, tooth-friendly oral dosage forms that require a pleasant, "syrupy" texture without the calories or glycaemic impact of sugar. It appears as a clear, colourless, and highly viscous liquid and is odourless with a clean, sweet taste (approximately 75–80% the sweetness of sucrose). It serves as a bulk sweetener, texturizer, and non-crystallizing plasticizer. LYCASIN® 85/55 is the foundational "candy base" for sugar-free gummies. It provides the chewy, elastic structure necessary for gelatin or pectin-based gummies and ensures the final gummy is transparent and visually appealing. In chewable formulations, it is used primarily during the wet granulation phase. It acts as a powerful adhesive to help powders clump into granules that can be compressed.
